Experimental components are AI-generated components for Intility apps. They are documented here with the rest of Bifrost, but they come from a separate package, @intility/bifrost-experimental. They are not part of @intility/bifrost-react or any other Bifrost package.
What experimental means
- AI-generated. Designers and developers build them with AI. Nobody has reviewed them line by line, so they may not be as optimized as Bifrost components.
- Front end only. They depend only on React and other Bifrost packages. They make no network calls and run no scripts. Automatic checks catch common mistakes, but they aren't a guarantee, so the contributor who adds a component is responsible for it.
- Safe to use, but they may change. Use them in your apps, but expect them to change more often than Bifrost components.
How it differs from Bifrost
The Bifrost team writes and reviews the Bifrost packages by hand, and they have to work in every scenario. Experimental components live in their own package in the Bifrost repository, so they never affect the other Bifrost packages. If an experimental component proves itself and the Bifrost team reviews it, it can move into Bifrost.
